Work Schedule: Monday - Friday - 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM 
Rate of Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour 
Required: Must be able to clear pre-employment background, drug test and possess a valid Driver’s License.

Position Summary :

The Detailer is responsible for thoroughly cleaning and reconditioning the interior and exterior of commercial vehicles returning from service or customer use prior to being released back into operation. This role ensures vehicles meet company cleanliness and presentation standards, helping maintain customer satisfaction and vehicle readiness. Prior professional detailing experience is required due to the size, complexity, and usage conditions of commercial vehicles. 


Key Responsibilities 

Exterior Vehicle Cleaning 

  • Wash, rinse, and dry commercial vehicles including trucks, vans, and upfitted bodies. 

  • Remove dirt, grease, road film, and environmental buildup. 

  • Perform polishing, waxing, and spot paint cleaning as required. 

  • Clean wheels, tires, underbody areas, and exterior compartments. 

Interior Vehicle Cleaning 

  • Clean and sanitize vehicle interiors including seats, floors, dashboards, door panels, and storage compartments. 

  • Vacuum and shampoo carpets and upholstery as needed. 

  • Remove debris, stains, and odors common in work vehicles. 

  • Clean interior glass, controls, and surfaces for safe and professional presentation. 

Detailing Equipment & Area Maintenance 

  • Safely operate pressure washers, vacuums, buffers, steam cleaners, and detailing tools. 

  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of detailing area and equipment. 

  • Restock detailing supplies and report equipment or supply needs. 

Quality & Inspection Support 

  • Inspect vehicles for cleanliness and completeness before release. 

  • Identify and report any damage, missing components, or safety concerns discovered during detailing. 

  • Coordinate with Service or Quality teams to address issues prior to vehicle release. 

Safety & Compliance 

  • Follow all safety procedures and PPE requirements. 

  • Properly handle cleaning chemicals and materials per safety guidelines. 

  • Support compliance with OSHA and company environmental policies. 

 

Qualifications 

Education & Experience 

  • High school diploma or GED preferred. 

  • Prior professional vehicle detailing experience required, preferably with commercial or fleet vehicles. 

  • Experience using industrial detailing equipment and chemicals. 

Skills & Abilities 

  • Strong attention to detail and pride in workmanship. 

  • Ability to work efficiently while maintaining quality standards. 

  • Knowledge of proper cleaning techniques for different vehicle materials and surfaces. 

  • Ability to work independently and follow instructions. 

  • Good communication skills and ability to work as part of a team. 

 

Physical Requirements 

  • Ability to stand, bend, kneel, and work on vehicles for extended periods. 

  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. 

  • Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions. 

 

Work Environment 

  • Shop and wash bay environments. 

  • Exposure to water, cleaning chemicals, noise, and varying temperatures. 

  • Required use of PPE including gloves, eye protection, and appropriate footwear.
